Maine Coast to New Hampshire
Thursday, September 29th, Bob spent just about all day at the Dodge dealer getting our truck fixed to the tune of around $1100! The universal drive shaft and bearings in the driver's wheel were shot. We had no choice but to have the work done. I spent the day cleaning the unit, doing laundry, and general enjoying the misty autumn day. The next morning, the New England pea soup fog made it impossible to see much of the Maine coast as we headed east and then north. Rain and wind later set in, and spent a wet night at a campground in Naples, ME. We were going to stop for a few days at Sebago Lake, but the campground there didn't look as good as it sounded on the web. The next day, the foul weather finally cleared, and we made our way into New Hampshire. We are staying at The Pine Knoll Campground in Albany, NH, off route 16--the last two photos in this post are of the small lake at the park. We'll be here until Thursday. They are booked after that for the Columbus Day weekend. Today we took a Sunday drive south to Lake Winnipesaukee, where my cousin Joe and his wife Barbara enjoyed some summers. The highs for this week are supposed to be around 55, and lows in the 30's. The area is absolutely beautiful with all the creeks, rivers, lakes, trees, and mountains.
