Today, we went into Helena, Montana's state capital, where about 30,000 folks live. It was the first city we had come to since we left Florida that had all the typical chain stores. Folks think nothing of driving 100 miles to go shopping. I guess it's because the scenery along the way is so majestic, and the speed limit, even on the highway, is 70 mph. These are the Big Belt mountains along the way, just outside Helena National Forest on US 12 heading into Helena.
We will be leaving for Garnier, MT, tomorrow, a day earlier than originally planned. It is 4 miles from the north entrance to Yellowstone, and we will be there 4-5 days.
