We arranged to have a concrete drive put over part of the graveled area, not realizing that would happen while Bob was in the hospital for back surgery. He had been suffering for over a year with sciatic pain. He had tried different pain management treatments, but nothing worked. Finally, he opted for surgery. There was a complication with a blockage in the tube that was draining the surgical site which resulted in his returning to the operating room for an emergency surgery. That was very frightening. The surgeon said if it had not been caught in time, it would have caused Bob to be paralyzed from his waist down. Bob had several at home physical therapy sessions. We had to cancel the trip to NJ to celebrate Uncle Mike's 100th birthday.
