Sunday Nov 2, 2014 - The Christening

Sunday was a very special day in several ways.  We had made plans several months prior to meet with my paternal cousins on Sunday November 2.  On our journey to NJ, I received an email from our cousin Rachel inviting us to the christening of their first baby, and her mother and father's (Adele & Michael's)  first grandson, Alexander, which would be held in West Patterson on the 2nd.  It was also All Souls day.  I attended the christening which was part of the Mass that Sunday, and the reading of names for All Souls Day. It was a very emotional ceremony, although baby Alexander slept through it all, thanks to the almost constant ocgentle rocking of his daddy, Nathan. Rachel's brother and sister, David & Jill, were the god parents. After the Mass, Bob and I went to Amanda & Adam's house in Wayne to attend the Konecny gathering there.  Unfortunately, we had to cut it short because the propane furnace in our travel unit had stopped working Sunday morning, and Bob was concerned about fixing it since the evening and early morning temperatures were going to be in the 30's.  Despite getting a new regulator, he was unable to fix the problem. Later in the evening, we went to my cousin Adele's to visit with the new baby and see some of the family who were still there from the luncheon Adele & Michael  hosted after the christening.

Nelson, Rachel, & Barbara seem to be captivated by a baby carriage.  Nathan, David & Kim are in the background.
Dad Nathan, and Great Grand Dad seem to be drawn in, too, while Grandma Adele looks on.  What could the attraction be?

Oh, I see!  The guest of honor...Alexander Michael!!!

Later in the evening, Adele gets to have some  Grandma cuddle time with Alexander.

Great Aunt Barbara wanted some cuddle time, too.

But, Barbara will have a lot of grandma cuddle time of her own, considering her son Joe & daughter-in-law, Melody, are expecting their first baby (girl) in January.
