Jump ahead to January 2023

Bob had made a great recovery from the back surgery and the sciatic pain was gone.  But no sooner had he gotten the release from the spinal surgeon, he found out the lesion on his liver had grown over the past couple of months and he had to see an oncologist.  The doctor said the lesion needed to be removed, so on December 1, 2022,  Bob was under the knife once again.  That surgery was also successful, but he will need to have liver scans for the next two years.  Christmas and New Year came and went.  2023 did not start out well with news of cousin Anne Rose's death on January 5th and Jay's  on the 24th.  However, great-grandchild Sterling came into the world  January 11th.  Although we weren't keen on going to Florida, we packed up and headed to Groveland to visit David and Amanda and see the grand daughters and great grands.  We towed our boat down to David's in the hopes there would be a better market for it down there.

Ironically, while stopped at a light in Jacksonville, this truck was ahead of us.  It's license plate reads "Jays1", and today was Jay's wake in North Carolina, which we weren't able to attend.
But, we were here to celebrate life.  Sixteen day old Sterling sleeps peacefully in great grand dad Bob's arms.
And there's nothing that can make your heart feel lighter than holding a giggly baby girl like Saylor.
Well, two goofy dogs can make you smile, too.
I guess we have an adventure on every trip.  The flea bag hotel we stayed at in Waycross, GA, had double charged us for the room and the manager refused to return the overpayment.  So, Bob called the local police.   The officer wrote up a report that we could provide the credit card company which we did, and the refund was later applied to our account.  Bob also reported the hotel to the Waycross Dept of Health who said the hotel was due to be closed down for various violations.  So much for good reviews on websites!
