Wishing Well and Sunset Beach, NC

We left September 11, 2010, hoping the world would not go crazy on the 9th anniversary of 9/11, and thankfully, it didn't. Our first planned stay was at Sunset Beach, NC, where we were going to connect with my long time friend, Jay, and her husband, Paul ,in the nearby town of Calabash. We were supposed to be there on Wednesday, but we decided after our night's stop at Brunswick, GA, to continue up the coast and spend some time playing tourist. We stayed at a campground called The Wishing Well. It was really one of the nicer parks we've been to, and it was only $9.50 a night--such a deal! The park was about 5 miles from Sunset Beach. To get there, you had to go over a swinging drawbridge across the causeway.
