Ride to Lake Huron Thurs Sept 5 2019

The road atlas showed there was a scenic route along Lake Huron, and we had planned on making that ride today.  We didn't expect all the traffic that is in this area, and decided we didn't want to attempt heading east thru the Detroit suburbs to get to the southern point of the route. Instead we took M-15 north toward Bay City. Once there, although the GPS showed we were traveling along the shore, there was too much foliage blocking the view.  From Bay City, we went east until we arrived at Bay Port where, after almost 4 hours, we were able to view the lake.  Rather than continue east and south, we took M-24 back, and returned to camp in about 2 hours.

About half way up, we found a roadside park.
It would be a nice spot for a picnic and to drop a line.
About 30 miles from Bay City, we could see a large wind field in the east.  These turbines never fail to amaze me.  You could get hypnotized watching them rotate.  For some reason, though, most of these were dormant.

We saw a sign "Finn and Feather Public Access" and thought perhaps we could see the lake by taking that side road.  But, it led only to a channel.
It looked like some places we've been to in The Everglades.  The only thing missing was a sign warning to not feed the alligators.
Across the road were the first signs of fall, and we knew we weren't in Florida.
After a light lunch in Sebewaing, we arrived in Bay Port and finally got a glimpse of Lake Huron.
The lake seems to go on forever.
Since neither of us had seen Lake Huron before, we agreed it was worth the ride.
