Lambert Castle

On Friday, June 3rd, my cousins Adele and Carol joined Bob and me for a visit to Lambert Castle in the Garrett Mountains near our home town of Clifton.  The castle was built in 1892 by Catholina Lambert, who was a silk magnate.  There is also a tower on the castle land, but it is being renovated and not currently open to the public.  The first floor of the castle contains period piece rooms; the second displays various collections, including a swan tea set that belong to Josephine Bonaparte, who had a brother that once lived in New Jersey; and on the third, the exhibits change from time to time.  The history of the Morris Canal, part of which went through Clifton, was the feature while we were there. You can see the NYC skyline from the second story windows.  Hope you enjoy the tour...we did.
