Westerly, RI to the 1000 Islands, NY

Monday, June 7th, we left Mystic CT where we had camped, just over the RI state line, and took a 9 hour ride to the 1,000 Islands, north of Watertown, NY, on the St Lawrence River.  We'll be here for 3 nights.
The entrance way to the Mystic KOA campsite.
One of the locks on the Mohawk River, part of the Erie Canal along SR 28, near Herkimer, known for the Herkimer diamonds.
Lots of beautiful farm country along the way.  Wind turbines dotted some parts of the landscape.

Charlie Dog, feeling a lot better, but still playing the "sick puppy card", sitting in one of his beds on my lap.
Downtown Watertown, NY, on SR 12, one of the largest cities near the 1000 Islands.  Our destination is about 25 miles away.
Our first glimpse of the St Lawrence in the distance as we headed toward Cape St Vincent on SR12E.  Looking forward to exploring the area Wednesday and Thursday.
