Along Rte 2, between Coulee City and Davenport, there were fields of crops for as far as you could see. Along one stretch, there were signs posted indicating the types of crops, including peppermint, alfalfa, onions, potatoes, corn, wheat, peas, and apricots. That was something I had always thought should be along the roads so you knew what you were looking at and didn't have to say it was "soy bean" (family joke). The cultivated lands changed to varying types of hills along the way.
