Yesterday, Sunday, June 6, 2010, we took a trip into Yosemite. We went through Tioga Pass on the east side, where the elevation is 9,945 feet, which is not the highest point. The temperature ranged from 41 degrees to 77. It is only about 71 miles from the entrance to Yosemite Village where the road loops to the exits, but the round trip takes at least 4 hours. We saw two bear cubs and one coyote, but the animals were not within camera range.

Once again we have to say that words and photos can't capture the magnificence of the snow capped peaks, rocky crags, waterfalls, meadows, lakes, and sequoia forests. But, we hope you will enjoy the "Sunday drive" in the pictures that follow...

P.S. We were lucky that we went on our journey yesterday. In this morning's news, there is a flood alert for the park. The Merced River is in danger of overflowing its banks. Yesterday, the creeks looked swollen. The snow was melting on the mountains, and we saw rivelets and small waterfalls on the rocks every where.
