That's right, the "Extraterrestrial Highway" aka Rte 395. From Panaca to Tonopah, NV, a distance of 150 miles, there were no gas stations and not much of anything else either. As Bob noted, it was about the same distance as from Bonita to Tampa, but with nothing except land inbetween. There is a small settlement named "Rachel" about midway, which is noted for its UFO sightings and seekers. Area 51, a top secret government facility is somewhere here...if you can find it.
